  As you know, Samgyeopsal (in English, it is called pork belly) is most popular cuisine method in the Korea. Usually barbecue is for outside for party, but you can enjoy it in restaurant easily. there are 2 type to method to cook, one is cooked on the grill by charcoal fire, the other is only grill plate on the fire. Using charcoal is taste more smoky and lean so you can enjoy as eat outside. this method is for beef usually. Using pan grill is for pork, and this pan can puts on other ingredients such as mushroom, onion, garlic, or kimchi. Of course it may change the method and many restaurants using their way.

  Today I visited this restaurant that is using plate grill. this place is famous for combination both leek and samgyopsal.  you may see many peoples are waiting, so you have to get a ticket number. ask staff for ticket. when you got number, they will call the number. i recommend you learn how to speak and read numbers in Korean.


The address is Seoul gwanak-gu namhyun dong namhyun 1-gil 68-14 (서울특별시 관악구 남현동 남현1길 68-14) where is nearby Sadang Stn(number 4).

  




This restaurant is pretty narrow, and you may nearby next to table with you don't know who are they.


let you know menu in English. 생삼겹 is unfrozen pork belly. it is more expensive than 냉동삼겹살(Frozen pork belly) because it's more fresh and means not be kept for a long time. 오겹살 is pork belly with pig skin. it looks like 5 parts pork, so people say 오겹살. If you don't like to eat pig skin, then avoid this menu. 불삼겹 is pork belly with Korean chili sauce. It tastes spicy and sweet. If you can handle with spicy foods, trying is good selection.




  Once you order meats, then they will gives you food tray filled with many ingredients (Garlic, Leek with sweet sauce, Kimchi, Chili, and deep sauce called 쌈장) you require more, then you can get more without "additional cost"!


 

 Once the pan heat is enough high, you may put the pork on the fan grill. The fan incline to drain, so we don't think the lard. You can see the powder on the pork, this is green tea. but not sure why they sprinkled. Maybe it helps remove to pork's smell.




 This is how Korean people put ingredient on the grill when they eat. this restaurant is famous for leek and pork belly, so we put it together, but you may add other ingredients on the pan such as kimchi, garlic, onion or anything what you want. I forgot to take pictures how to cut, strangely, Korean people using scissor to cut foods. you may see any BBQ restaurants using scissor to cut it.




Normally, (traditionally) Korean culture has harmony not only costume, but also foods for looks better. I will post about Korean cultural about color(5 colors, 5 tastes). they like to eat foods together, so you can notice it more healthful and good for matching foods well. eating with big leaf is called Ssam(쌈), most of BBQ restaurant have ssam. If you don't get basket of leaves in BBQ restaurant, you got wrong place where is worst.



Roast any ingredient you want!



 If you studied about Asian culture, Asian staple food is rice. they eat rice when they have a meal. Some people like to eat with write rice, the others like to eat fried rice in the bbq restaurant. this is strong taste and good for fat because it is include chili sauce, sesame oil, and seaweed. Korean people like to eat this after eat pork all. other people like to eat with cold noodle(냉면), but we don't get this food so just ordered fried rice. you can see this fried rice is spread. because Korean rice is short grain, has sticky. So this method helps dry to crunchy as taste better. 



Perhaps you may add more ingredients like this. This restaurant is very popular with young people because leek salad is pretty sweet. I think this is characteristic for this restaurant. So for the old people doesn't like this place I guess, or you can try other restaurant nearby here.
